About the Journal
Art & Design for Humanity (ISSN:3106-1745) is an international, open access journal for humanities and interdisciplinary design research, published monthly online by IDAP. We provide a rigorous academic forum for scholars, practitioners, and artists who are committed to leveraging art and design as tools for positive social, cultural, and environmental change. We commit to transcend traditional disciplinary boundaries and champion inclusivity in academic contributions. The journal actively solicits submissions from a global scholarly community and is dedicated to publishing a rich diversity of perspectives originating from various cultural, national, and intellectual backgrounds.

Aims and Scope
The journal is dedicated to fostering critical discourse, theoretical innovation, and practical exploration across a broad spectrum of the arts, design, and cultural studies. We welcome original research articles, theoretical essays, and critical reviews that engage with traditional methodologies as well as interdisciplinary approaches.
The journal’s scope encompasses, but is not limited to, the following core areas:
- Visual Arts & Contemporary Practices: Traditional fine arts, installation and spatial art, new media and digital arts, visual culture, and curatorial studies.
- Performing Arts & Performance Studies: Musicology and ethnomusicology, dance and choreographic studies, theater and drama, as well as interdisciplinary and experimental performance art.
- Design Studies & Innovation: Industrial and product design, fashion and apparel design, engineering and systems design, graphic and visual communication design, interaction (UX/UI) design, service design, and sustainable design methodologies.
- Crafts & Material Culture: Contemporary and traditional craft practices (including ceramics, glass, jewelry, and textiles), maker culture, and the theoretical exploration of materiality.
- Architecture & The Built Environment: Architectural design and theory, environmental and ecological design, urban planning, landscape architecture, critical spatial practices, and design methodology.
- Screen Studies & Cinematic Arts: Film and video production, cinema history and theory, media aesthetics, animation, and critical screen studies.
- Arts Education & Pedagogy: Aesthetic education, higher education in the arts and design, arts-based educational research, curriculum development, and pedagogical innovations.
- Theoretical, Historical & Cultural Studies: Art history and theory, critical theory, art conservation and heritage studies, literary studies in relation to the arts, visual anthropology, and interdisciplinary cultural studies.
